Description
These Valentine Chocolate Covered Pretzels for kids are a delightful treat that combines the crunch of pretzels with the sweetness of chocolate. Perfect for festive occasions, they are easy to prepare and can be topped with colorful sprinkles for extra fun!
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces (226g) semi-sweet or white chocolate (two 4-ounce bars), finely chopped*
- 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
- 4 cups pretzels
- optional: sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Melt the chocolate with the oil using a double boiler or the microwave. If using the microwave, combine chocolate and oil in a medium heat-proof bowl. Heat for 20-second increments, stirring each time, until smooth.
- Dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate. Lift it out with a fork, tapping the fork on the bowl to remove excess chocolate, and use a toothpick to slide the pretzel onto the baking sheet.
- If desired, add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet. Reheat leftover chocolate if needed and drizzle over the pretzels using a squeeze bottle.
- Refrigerate the pretzels for 20–30 minutes until chocolate is set. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for up to two weeks.
Notes
Make sure the chocolate is finely chopped to ensure even melting.
Using a glass measuring cup for melting chocolate makes it easier to dip pretzels.
