Description

This Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a delightful dessert that combines a crunchy pretzel crust with creamy layers and fresh strawberries. Perfect for gatherings and so easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups small salted pretzels (crushed)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup salted butter (melted)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 6 oz strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and gather all necessary ingredients.
  2. In a food processor, combine crushed pretzels and brown sugar until mixed but still chunky.
  3. Add melted butter and pulse until moistened evenly.
  4. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a parchment-lined 8×8 baking dish and bake for 10 minutes until golden. Let cool completely.
  5. Using a hand mixer, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and beat well, then spread over the cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water in a medium bowl, then refrigerate until it thickens (about 30 minutes).
  8. Fold in sliced strawberries and pour over the cream cheese layer. Chill until the gelatin sets, 2 to 4 hours.
  9. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Ensure the pretzel crust cools completely before adding the cream cheese layer for best results.
You can substitute fresh strawberries with other berries if preferred for different flavors.
The dessert is best prepared a few hours in advance to allow it to set properly.
