Description

Experience the rich and creamy taste of Slow Cooker Baileys Irish Cream Hot Chocolate. This delightful recipe easily combines smooth Ghirardelli chocolate, cocoa, and milk for an irresistibly warming treat, perfect for cozy gatherings or cold evenings.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz. ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup baileys® irish cream
  • marshmallows or whipped cream

Instructions

  • Break up the chocolate squares and place them into the slow cooker.
  • Add the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and whole milk to the slow cooker (leave out the Baileys for now).
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 1.5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure everything melts evenly.
  • Once the cocoa is hot, stir in the Baileys Irish Cream until well combined.
  • Set out mugs along with whipped cream and a bowl of marshmallows for serving. Guests can help themselves.
  • Switch the slow cooker to warm setting to keep the hot chocolate warm for up to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Notes

For richer flavors, use high-quality chocolate.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your taste.
Add a dash of salt to enhance the chocolate flavor.
