Description

Pico de Gallo is a fresh, flavorful salsa made with ripe tomatoes, zesty lime juice, and crisp onions. This simple recipe is perfect for enhancing meals or snacking.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound roma tomatoes (about 4 medium tomatoes)
  • ½ red onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ freshly ground black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the tomatoes and remove the seeds and pulp from the center.
  2. Finely dice the red onion and chop the cilantro.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and stir to mix well.
  4. Chill for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or serve immediately.

Notes

For less spice, remove the seeds from the tomatoes.
Feel free to adjust lime juice according to taste for more tang.
Fresh ingredients make all the difference in flavor.
