- 4 cups pears (peeled and thinly sliced from 5–6 pears)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup rolled oats (gluten free, if needed)
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour (gluten free, if needed)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts (optional, chopped)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a bowl, combine pears, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then pour into the baking dish.
- Mix oats, flour, and brown sugar in the same bowl, and add chopped pecans or walnuts if desired.
- Cut butter into the dry mixture until crumbled, then sprinkle over the pears.
- Bake for 45 minutes until topping is golden and pears are bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
