- 1 box kraft macaroni and cheese
- 2–3 tablespoons pasta water, reserved from cooking
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup 2% greek yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente.
- Before draining, scoop out about ¼ cup of the starchy pasta water and set it aside. Drain the noodles in a colander.
- Return the empty pot to low heat and melt the butter completely.
- Whisk Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons reserved pasta water, hot sauce, and black pepper into the melted butter until well combined.
- Add the cheese powder packet to the sauce and stir thoroughly until the sauce is smooth. If necessary, add more pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- Return the drained noodles to the pot and stir to coat each noodle in the creamy cheese sauce. Serve hot with your favorite add-ins.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding cooked bacon or vegetables to the mac and cheese.
Adjust the hot sauce amount according to your spice preference.
For a richer taste, use full-fat Greek yogurt instead of 2%.
