Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut or pounded thin (about 6 thin pieces)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup oil, + more as needed
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
Instructions
- Pour buttermilk over chicken and mix to coat. Refrigerate while preparing the coating and honey.
- Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Whisk honey, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
- Take chicken out of buttermilk and coat each side liberally with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place chicken in a single layer in the pan, ensuring they do not touch. Cook for 3-4 minutes, flip, and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 165˚F (about 4-5 minutes). Remove chicken to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Repeat cooking process until all chicken is done, adding more oil as needed. Arrange chicken on a platter and drizzle hot honey over each piece.
Notes
Adjust cooking oil based on the chicken pieces and ensure they do not touch in the skillet.
Use medium-low heat after adding chicken to cook evenly without burning the exterior.
