  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut or pounded thin (about 6 thin pieces)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup oil, + more as needed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Pour buttermilk over chicken and mix to coat. Refrigerate while preparing the coating and honey.
  2. Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Whisk honey, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
  4. Take chicken out of buttermilk and coat each side liberally with the flour mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place chicken in a single layer in the pan, ensuring they do not touch. Cook for 3-4 minutes, flip, and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 165˚F (about 4-5 minutes). Remove chicken to a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. Repeat cooking process until all chicken is done, adding more oil as needed. Arrange chicken on a platter and drizzle hot honey over each piece.

Notes

Adjust cooking oil based on the chicken pieces and ensure they do not touch in the skillet.
Use medium-low heat after adding chicken to cook evenly without burning the exterior.
