Description

These French Onion Burgers boast a delightful combination of flavors, featuring caramelized onions and creamy brie. Perfect for a quick, mouthwatering dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 lbs grass-fed 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon dehydrated minced onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 brioche buns, toasted in butter
  • 8 oz double cream brie, cut into slices
  • 2 cups arugula
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter with olive oil in a large dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions, cover, and cook for 10 minutes until wilted. Uncover, lower heat, and add thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until the onions are deeply caramelized. Stir in dijon and balsamic vinegar; set aside.
  2. Transfer half of the cooled onions to a cutting board, chop finely, and mix with beef, Worcestershire, dijon, dehydrated onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix gently, divide into 4 balls, and form patties with an indentation in the center.
  3. Mix mayo, dijon, horseradish, and honey in a small bowl; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat the grill to 450°F and oil the grates.
  5. Grill the patties over direct heat for 3-4 minutes per side. Rest the burgers, placing slices of brie on top while still warm.
  6. Spread burger sauce on the toasted buns, place patties, top with caramelized onions and arugula, and serve immediately.

Notes
