Description

Experience the deliciousness of Fall-Apart Tender Crockpot Apple Pork Chops. This simple recipe features juicy pork cooked slowly with sweet apples, and aromatic cinnamon, perfect for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 to 6 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 large apples, cored and sliced (granny smith or honeycrisp work well)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 cup apple juice or apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  • Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the sliced apples and onions evenly at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Arrange the pork chops on top of the apple and onion layer.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the apple juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon, then pour the mixture over the pork chops.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours until the pork is tender and cooked through.
  • To thicken the sauce (optional): Transfer the pork chops to a plate. Stir the cornstarch and water together, then mix it into the cooking liquid. Cover and cook on high for about 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Serve the pork chops with the apples and onions spooned over the top, using the sauce as desired.

Notes

Make sure to use firm apples for better texture in the dish.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
This dish is great served with mashed potatoes or rice.
