Description
Crockpot Boiled Peanuts offer an irresistible flavor and simple preparation, making them perfect for gatherings or a quick snack. Enjoy the tender, seasoned peanuts in a fraction of the time for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs raw peanuts in shells
- ¼ cup salt
- water
Instructions
- Sort through your raw peanuts, removing stray shells or debris. Rinse the peanuts and soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes. Drain afterwards.
- Place the soaked peanuts in the crockpot and add the salt. Cover with water, ensuring about an inch of space at the top to prevent overflow during cooking.
- Set the crockpot to high and cook for about 7½ hours, adjusting the tenderness according to your preference.
- A little before halfway through, taste a peanut. If it's not salty enough, add more salt, then stir to combine.
- Monitor the water level throughout cooking. If it dips below the top of the peanuts, add more water to keep them fully submerged.
- Once tender, drain the peanuts and serve warm or store for later snacking.
Notes
Adjust salt levels to your taste preference when cooking.
These make a great snack for parties and gatherings.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
