Description

This creamy garlic pasta combines rich flavors of garlic and butter, featuring spaghetti tossed in a velvety sauce. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
  • In a large skillet, add the olive oil and butter, then melt over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste.
  • Pour in the white wine and allow it to simmer for about 3 minutes.
  • Add the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Incorporate the reserved ½ cup of pasta water and stir. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  • Remove the skillet from heat.
  • Mix the grated parmesan cheese into the sauce until melted and creamy.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss well to combine.
  • Serve with extra parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.

Notes

For extra flavor, feel free to add chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil as a garnish.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
If you prefer a lighter sauce, replace half of the heavy cream with chicken broth.
