Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 english cucumbers (approximately 1 pounds), sliced ⅛-inch thick
  • ¼ cup sliced red onion (⅛-inch thick, from about a quarter of a medium onion)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill
  • 1½ teaspoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced cucumbers and red onions in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together sour cream, white vinegar, fresh dill, granulated sugar, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and onions, gently folding the ingredients together to ensure an even coating.
  4. Transfer the salad to a decorative serving bowl.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
This salad can be prepared a few hours ahead; just keep it refrigerated until serving.
Fresh dill can be substituted with dill weed if fresh is unavailable.
