- 2 pounds ground beef
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 8 hamburger buns
- lettuce, tomato, red onion for serving
- your favorite condiments
Instructions
- Prepare a grill fire to about 300° using hickory or oak wood for smoke.
- Mix the steak rub by combining brown sugar, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and dry mustard together.
- Mix the seasoning blend into ground beef and form it into 8 patties with an indentation in the center of each.
- Place the patties over indirect heat on the grill and close the lid; cook for 5 minutes.
- Flip the burgers and continue cooking until they reach an internal temperature of 165°.
- Remove the burgers from the grill and serve on buns topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and your favorite condiments.
