Description

Chocolate Chip Walnut Banana Bread brings together ripe bananas, creamy texture, and delicious chocolate chunks. It’s a quick, easy, and delightful treat for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large very ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 2 oz chopped walnuts
  • 2 oz white chocolate chunks or chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 10×5 loaf pan (1.5 lb size) and dust with flour to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, whisk until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisk until smooth.
  4. Stir in the mashed bananas, sour cream, sea salt, and baking soda until fully incorporated.
  5. Gently mix in the flour and cinnamon until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chunks, walnuts, and white chocolate chunks. Reserve some for garnishing, if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add extra chocolate chunks and walnuts on top if you wish.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Cool before slicing, and cover with foil at the 50-minute mark to prevent excessive browning.

Notes

Make sure the bananas are overripe for the best flavor and sweetness.
You can substitute walnuts with pecans if you prefer.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
