Description

This Chicken Parmesan Casserole features tender rotini pasta, savory marinara sauce, shredded chicken, and layers of melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, creating a cozy and delicious meal perfect for busy weeknights.

  • 8 ounces rotini pasta
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 cups chicken cooked and shredded
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese shredded, divided
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated, divided
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. Cook the rotini pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and place in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, shredded chicken, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese to the pasta and mix well.
  4. Spread the pasta mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Top the pasta with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and salt, then sprinkle over the cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  8. Let the dish cool for 5 minutes before garnishing with fresh basil. Serve and enjoy!
