Description

This Baked Spaghetti features layers of flavor with tender spaghetti, seasoned ground beef, and melted cheese. It’s perfect for quick weeknight dinners or cozy family gatherings. The easy prep and delicious taste make it a must-try for homemade meal lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces spaghetti
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley or 2 tablespoons dried
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ⅓ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or italian sausage
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 32 ounces pasta sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounces) can diced tomatoes with juices
  • 1½ teaspoons italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large pot of salted water, cook spaghetti al dente according to package directions.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with green pepper, onion, garlic, and salt over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Simmer uncovered for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  5. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the meat mixture and parsley, then transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  6. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, then bake for 25-30 minutes until hot and bubbly. Cut into squares to serve.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the ground beef with turkey or a plant-based option for a lighter version.
You can add other vegetables such as mushrooms or zucchini for extra flavor and nutrition.
The dish can be assembled in advance and refrigerated. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time when you are ready to cook.
