- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into greased donut molds, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 7-9 minutes until golden brown and springy to the touch.
- Allow to cool for 2 minutes before transferring to a tray.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, brush donuts with melted butter, and dip the tops into the cinnamon sugar.
- Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure not to overmix the batter to ensure soft donuts.
